XS SOFTWARE ("we", "us") developed PlayTube: Video & Music Player (the "App") as a free application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares.
By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
What this App is. PlayTube: Video & Music Player is an offline media player. It plays video and audio files that are already stored on your own device.
What this App is not. The App does not access, request, download, stream, extract, or play content from YouTube or any other online content service. It does not use YouTube API Services, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube or Google in any way beyond the standard developer services listed below.
The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no registration. We do not ask you for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier in order to use the App.
To function as a media player, the App reads video and audio files stored on your device through the Android MediaStore, after you grant the corresponding Android permission. Regarding these files:
If you deny or revoke media permission, the App simply cannot list your files; nothing is collected as a result.

The App integrates third-party services that may collect technical information in order to display advertising, report crashes, measure usage, and process purchases. Depending on the service, this may include device model and operating system version, app version and configuration, language and country, advertising identifier, coarse location derived from IP address, IP address, timestamps, crash and diagnostic data, and general app activity events (for example, "app opened").
We do not use this information to identify you personally, and we do not sell it.
These services process information according to their own privacy policies:
The free version of the App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob and its mediation partners. Ads may use your device's advertising identifier to limit repetition and to measure performance, and in some regions to show personalised ads.
Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the App shows a consent request through Google's User Messaging Platform before personalised ads are served, and your choice is respected.
You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads). Purchasing the ad-free (Premium) version removes advertising from the App.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment card details. We only receive the purchase state needed to unlock Premium features.
If the App crashes or encounters an error, diagnostic information may be collected through Firebase Crashlytics. This may include device information, operating system version, app version, IP address, timestamps, and the crash stack trace. This data is used only to identify and fix problems in the App.
Data created by the App (playlists, playback preferences, settings) is stored only on your device. You can delete all of it at any time by clearing the App's data, or by uninstalling the App.
Data held by the third-party services listed above is retained according to their respective retention policies. If you wish to request deletion of data associated with the App, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
The App is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected improperly, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
We use commercially reasonable measures designed to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Earlier versions of this application offered features that interacted with online video content. Those features have been completely removed from the current local-only release:
